  2. Sir, this site is very enlightening !! I went to my doctor due to a rash on my face. i thought it was LUPUS, but my blood work revealed it was ROSECEA, common among people of IRISH decent. So I googled: African Americans of Irish decent, which directed me to your web page. All of the information & timeline adds up. The paternal side of my family, I was always told was Native American / African American from Virginia….no idea about the Irish slaves. My family last name of ROANE is also IRISH. i going to talk with the oldest living member on my fathers side of the family to see if she can shed some more light into our family’s history….this has truly been an eye opening read……THANKS
